How big is the ISS DOME?

The ISS DOME is spacious: the event area on the floor of the ISS DOME alone measures 1,800 square metres thereby complying with the international requirements for sports competitions. Total capacity of the hall is 13,400 people.  Gross internal volume amounts to 480,375.5 cubic metres. The area on which the ISS DOME is built totals 42,775 square metres.    
       
Where is the ISS DOME actually located and how do I get there?

The ISS DOME is situated in the north of Düsseldorf, in the Rath area. The exact address is Theodorstrasse 281. To improve access the motorway junction A 44/A 52 was extended. In addition, there is a shuttle bus stopping in front of the ISS DOME. Furthermore, all other key transport hubs are within easy reach: Düsseldorf central station is 8 km away and the airport only 3 km. For motorists the ISS DOME offers up to 3,000 parking spaces in total, of these 400 VIP spaces with separate access to the hall.   

Is the ISS DOME open to public ice-skating?

At the ISS DOME there is unfortunately no possibility of using the ice rink for public ice-skating. However, public ice-skating is still offered at the Brehmstraße rink.

What does the ISS DOME look like?

Its futurist design makes the ISS DOME another architectural highlight of Düsseldorf. The major part of the arena is clad with a metal façade following the organic contours of the body. Sections of the façade are semi-transparent providing a view. Louvre sections in the metal façade set accents while film roofs create a pleasant light atmosphere.   
   
Does the ISS DOME only house ice-hockey matches?

No. It is true that the ISS DOME is the new home of the DEG Metro Stars – 29 preparatory and league matches will be fought by Düsseldorf’s ice-hockey team here; but in addition to this the multi-purpose arena serves as a venue for national and international sports competitions of all kinds. Furthermore, approximately 20 rock and pop concerts as well as successful international shows are staged here each year. Likewise, the ISS DOME can also be used for a wide variety of business events of differing size.

How does the sports skating rink turn into a concert venue?

The conception as a multi-functional event location makes it possible to hold different kinds of events within a short period of time at the ISS DOME. Within as little as eight hours the ice rink can be refit by means of ice covers and removable dashers. Top sports performances in the morning, cultural top acts in the evening? No problem for the ISS DOME.
